The Geothermal Process... Geothermal
heat pumps utilize the natural heat in the shallow ground around your
house. Naturally the top level of earth (approx. 6 ft.), maintains a
warmer temperature than the cold air above it in the winter and
vice versa, warm air in the summer.
Although there are a few different geothermal systems that can be used,
they all consist of a pump, heat exchanger, and the air delivery
system. The heat exchanger is a system of pipes buried in the
ground near your house. A fluid moves through the pipesabsorbing and
transfering heat.
